The Walking in Christ Group meets at 8:00 am each Saturday morning at different locations in the area to walk or hike in fellowship with the Lord. The distances and difficulties vary, but are kept within the abilities of most individuals. Many walks are “stroller-friendly”. All ages are welcome and well-behaved dogs are welcome, too!
Sometimes I feel that life is too busy for these Saturday walks, but after the problems our Brother Everett is experiencing, I realize it’s not an issue of time availability, it’s an issue of priorities. We need to make our health a priority! To maintain a healthy heart, we need to exercise 3 times per week for a minimum of 20 minutes where our heart rate is in it’s aerobic zone. This means a heart rate between (220 – your age) X 60% and (220 – your age) X 80%. This may sound like a lot if you’re not doing it, but if you get started, it’s not so much. Bring the Lord and the beauty of His creations into your exercise and it can become a joy. PLEASE, if you’re not doing this now, join in!
