Statement of Faith

A Statement of Faith is a written declaration of the church’s position on matters that pertain to the essentials of historical Christianity.

We believe there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative, and inerrant Word of God.

We believe in the person of God the Father, an infinite, eternal, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all those who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe in the person of the Holy Spirit, who came from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, indwell, sanctify and empower for ministry all who believe in Christ.

We believe that all people are sinners by nature and, therefore, are under condemnation; that God saves and regenerates based upon faith by the Holy Spirit, those who repent of their sins and confess Jesus Christ as Lord.

We believe in the universal church, the living spiritual body, of which Christ is the head and all who are born again are a part of the Body of Christ.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto resurrection of life, and the lost unto the resurrection of condemnation.

Ecclesiology and Convictions

We believe that God instituted the church and functions as the Chief Shepherd over His flock. We believe that God may call a pastor to shepherd His flock under His leadership, and that the New Testament then instructs the pastor to raise up elders around him to lead and govern the church together. Therefore we are an elder-led church (Acts 14:23, 20:28; 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1–2).

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ instituted two ordinances for the Church: (a) baptism of believers, and (b) the Lord's Supper (Matthew 28:19; Luke 22:19-20; Acts 2:38; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26). We practice believer’s baptism—baptizing those who have made a conscious profession of faith. We regularly partake of the elements of communion as a church in a monthly rhythm.

We believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit continue to be given according Scripture. Therefore we are a continuationist church (1 Corinthians 12-14).

We believe that God instituted the gift of Marriage and that Jesus affirmed the creative order for Biblical sexuality found in Genesis when He said, “From the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate (Mark 10:6-9).” (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; Romans 1:18-32; I Corinthians 5:11, 6:9-11, 6:18-20, 7:1-3; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:3-5).

We believe that God made men and women in His image, and that they function as a compliment to one another. We believe that male and female are equal in value, and are distinct in function as a part of God’s creative order. Therefore we are a complementarian church (Genesis 1:27, 2:18-24; 1 Corinthians 11:3; Ephesians 5:21-23; Colossians 3:18-19; 1 Timothy 2:8-13, 3:2; Titus 1:5-9, 2:1-8; 1 Peter 3:1-7).

We believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ which is His personal, visible return to earth and the establishment of His millennial kingdom, and in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment and eternal blessing of the righteous who place their faith in Jesus and endless separation of the unrighteous who reject Jesus. Therefore we are a Pre-millennial church (Psalm 9:17; Matthew 16:27, 25:31-34; Mark 9:42-49; Luke 12:5; John 3:18; Hebrews 12:23; 1 Peter 1:4; 2 Peter 3:10-13; Revelation 19:11-16, 20:1-6, 20:11-15).
